Review paper about the effects of tDCS in the treatment of Aphasia

My colleagues from the University of Malaga (Spain) and I have recently published a review paper about the effects of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in the treatment of Aphasia. We reviewed 19 studies published between 2008 and 2016 which used tDCS to treat aphasia. In general, it seems that tDCS is safe and efficient way to improve the symptoms associated with this disorder. The effectiveness of tDCS is even superior when it is combined with neuropsychological therapy. This opens multiple possibilities to enhance the symptoms and, therefore, the quality of life of people suffering aphasia. It should be an interesting reading for neuropsychologist and speech therapists.
